Back Wall
Progress has been slow. I moved homes last year, and had not worked on the dollhouse in over a year!
I glued fabric to the back wall, and moved the windows to the 2nd floor, since I decided to add a spiral staircase.
The window frames are not glued on. I will paint them, and maybe add stained glass inserts. Let's see how long that takes ...

Repositioning the Window
After months of exploring staircase designs, I decided to leave out the stairs completely, to make the rooms bigger. Since the window on the landing was positioned halfway between the first and the second floor, I cut out the wall and brought the windows lower to the first floor.
With its high ceiling, the first floor would become the living room/music room. The second floor will house the dining room and kitchen. The third floor will become the bedroom and bathroom. I am not sure what will happen in the attic.

Wallpaper
I have decided to use the same fabric on the walls that I had used in my Garfield Dollhouse. It photographs beautifully and is very sturdy. I was considering using wallpaper for this one, but I do not care for the shiny finish I get when I photograph inside the dollhouse.
It was upholstery grade fabric, so comes with a hefty price-tag. I had to plan out how much fabric I would need before I went shopping. According to my calculations, I would need 188" of fabric if the bolt of fabric is 54" wide. I was unable to get one continuous length of fabric, so I bought about a yard extra in case the cut in the middle affected my calculation.
This is the Lavetta Beige
Upholstery Fabric 54" from JoAnn. I was lucky to catch the 50% off sale. Even then, I paid almost $70.
Once I came home, I laid down the wall pieces on the fabric, and my calculations seem fine. If I don't use the extra yard at this time, I might use to for future projects.

Instructions
In case I misplace the instruction sheets, I am saving them here as back up. Since this is a laser cut kit, it did not come with schematics. However, some of the wall and floor pieces are labelled in pencil.

Oxford Dollhouse Kit
Bought this incredible dollhouse kit from Dolls House Direct through eBay. This is the Oxford Dolls House Kit. You can visit their site at http://www.dollshousedirect.co.uk. It cost $744.34 (£430 + £135 shipping - UK to Texas, USA).
It is a behemoth. The kit is so big that it had to be sent in two boxes. The photos are from their website, because I have not assembled mine yet.
Now, the planning begins .... wish me luck!
